Reflection Judging is an integral part of our lives. We can't
get away from making judgments. Parents have to
judge disputes between children.
TV judges make decision between opposing people.
Personally, we have to make decisions about that is
morally good and bad. So what does Jesus mean when
he tells us not to judge? I think he's talking about
not loving and selfish judgments. We need to look
for the truth with love to understand Christ's
challenge of judgments.
Scripture
Matthew 7
1Do not judge others, and then you will not be
judged.
2The way you judge others, that is the way you will
be judged. How much you give to others is how much
will be given to you.
3`Why do you look at the spot of dust in your
brother's eye? But you do not see a big stick in
your own eye!
4Why do you say to your brother, "Let me take the
dust out of your eye"? And all the time you have
that stick in your own eye!
5You are not true to yourselves! First take the
stick out of your own eye. Then you will be able to
see to take the dust out of your brother's eye.
Prayer
Thank you, Lord, for the challenge of not judging.
But when I have to judge, help me to act out of love
and with a care for real justice. Thank you for
being so lenient in your judgment of me. Amen.
