Abuse of Jesus’ power

Reflection

Jesus used his power of love ot help people. He's passed on that power to us his followers. As Jesus wasn't looking for adulation and praise, so we should use power to help in a very selfless way. Often there's an abuse of Jesus power by people who use our gifts for self aggrandizement.

A Sign from Heaven
(Matthew 16.1-4)

 
¹¹The Pharisees came out and started an argument with Jesus. They wanted to test him by asking for a sign from heaven.   ¹²Jesus groaned and said, "Why are you always looking for a sign? I can promise you that you will not be given one!"   ¹³Then he left them. He again got into a boat and crossed over to the other side of the lake.  </TD< TR>

Prayer

Lord, you enter into our lives with passionate love.  You want us all to draw closer and closer to you. We see this love in the healing that you brought to people.  And you did it with simplicity.  You didn’t want the spot light.  You wanted to care for hurting people.  Help me to imitate your humility in my service of others.  Amen
