We do all we can
to run away from death. We use our seat
belts. We try to look young with pills
and operations. We don't want to let go
our our youthful beauty. And then Jesus
asks us to embrace death. We don't want

Sure we should face our impending death,
but this is another death he's talking
about. The death to ourselves when we
turn away from sin. The death we
experience when we try to love our
enemy. Then we see a beauty in the
people who serve others: parents,
missionaries, nurses.
